In ancient times, women had no right to any property, no Right to vote and to give an opinion. They are only expected to stay home and do household chores and serve their spouses. Because of the unequal treatment of women in the past, when women were allowed to study they became aware of their rights that they should have. So they revolted to fight for these rights which resulted in them being allowed to vote and work. So National Women’s Month is important for all women.
As a woman, the Women’s Month Celebration is an important occasion because it is a way of showing that we no longer live in times when the work of each gender is limited. We no longer are in a time when only men work, only women do housework and serve their spouses, only men can be strong while women are modest. Today, some mothers are women and some are men who are fathers as well. So, there is no justice if we divide all mothers as women because there are men who are mothers to their children. In retrospect, we can say that women become empowered because people's minds become open to what they can do. Women who serve as heroes and breadwinners of their respective families is one reason, we commemorate Women’s Month. It can also make us feel and show that we value the existence of women and other genders without judging even one of them.
By celebrating this occasion, we show that we do not need
to continue to live according to the will and destiny of society or the
majority. So, commemorating this is a way to awaken the eyes and minds of the
majority that not only men are capable of doing their work but also women. That
is why I wholeheartedly support National Women’s Month because I also seek
equal and fair treatment and the elimination of stereotypes not only for women
but for all genders.
