At a young age, we were
taught how to execute good manners and right conduct. How to say thank you, I’m
sorry, show gestures that symbolize respect for the elders, to admit your
wrongdoings, to always speak the truth, and to always give each other a hand
whenever they are in need. If we are aiming towards the resilient Philippines,
honestly, we don’t need to do anything grand or complicated. The simple things
we have learned in Daycare or Kinder are much more needed in our daily lives
than we think. As we grow up, we open our minds to the real world; understand
how the community works, and how to survive. But in surviving, we must never
forget that we are all humans. This is not the hunger games; it is not humane to
bring down powerless people just for you to stand at the top. There is no space
here for crab-mentality, we should help each other, achieve goals, and stand at
the top together. For instance, your community is experiencing extreme floods
due to a super typhoon. You don’t just stand there and watch them drown; you
should help them get to a high story building or house. When typhoons are over
it leaves numerous traces, torn down houses, cut down trees and casualties.
This is where the Filipino trademark, Bayanihan, comes to action. Everyone
capable of donating relief goods or materials for house repairs join hands in
helping those survivors.
They do everything they
can to help their fellow citizens and that is what I think we should do to make
this country resilient. I am not talking about donating relief goods or money
although it helps. We have to do everything we can think of to help each other,
join hands and carry them with us because one should not fight on their own,
even if they didn’t seek any help, we automatically know that we need to do
something for them, for the betterment of their situation, our community, and our country, the Philippines.

Yes! Unity is the only way for us to reconstruct the damages; emotionally, mentally, and all other aspects you can tell.
ReplyDeleteHi, Shieryn! What a great composition. I agree that we should always help each other in terms of these circumstances. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThe image you used is very meaningful. It's good that you included the reference links. Your layout is very minimal and kind of dull.
