With the year 2020 coming to an
end, a new year, 2021, has now begun. Even though the past year was spent
mostly in the four corners of our home due to the global pandemic, various
happenings have happened. There were pleasant and unpleasant things that
occurred, and there were times where we did nothing at all. That is why with
this New Year, I wanted to start it with a joyful jumpstart hoping that the
rest of the year will come along with less unpleasant moments.
Of
course in the New Year, there is always the New Year’s Resolution that everyone
always tries to accomplish thinking they have to start a New Year with a new
self. In my list, I wanted to start the first of January with being productive.
Waking up early in the morning but having a decent amount of sleep. Though I
have done this a few times last year, it was due to the resume of classes. For
me, being productive means not draining myself in front of my phone scrolling
through social media but creating plans on what I have to do on that day. In
connection to this is creating a healthy lifestyle for myself. Lessening my
intake of sweets, junk foods, and carbonated drinks like cola will be somewhat
a challenge for me. However, if I wanted to become healthy this year, there is
not much I can do but restrain myself. In the past year, I was also a fan of
staying up all night. The latest was 7 in the morning, I did not sleep at all
and I know for sure that staying up all night destroys one's metabolism causing
them to be prone to diseases. This is the habit that I wanted to change the
most for this year so I am trying really hard in restraining myself from the
radiation of my phone not just for my health but also to lessen the naggings I
get from my mother.
With
every day that goes by, reminding yourself about the things that you wanted to
change, the habits you want to change may not be as easy as what you think.
However, if you are doing it for your own well-being, isn’t that worth the
restrictions? Knowing that you are living a healthy life can be enough
motivation but also being happy is a plus. That is why starting a New Year with
a new “me” will not be as bad as what you think.

What a productive and wholesome way to achieve your resolution, Shieryn. I hope you persevere well with your respectable premeditated wishes. But remember to not push yourself as hard, okay? May you and your family have a good new year and may you stay safe!

I really like your final thoughts Miss Aniceto! I strongly agree that life is truly enough motivation.
