Insanely Sane For Quality Education

The Elderly has always stated that “Education is the key to success.” Our parents always say that the only treasure they can give is education. Amidst the challenges everyone is facing, we would always find a way to have the courage and determination to strive for our studies. But with this current global crisis, every human being has their feet swept away with these overwhelming questionnaires and situations, a lot of us are struggling to take our minds off which one of it is “How can they continue their studies with this ongoing pandemic?”

Although a lot of Filipinos want to start the school year demanding an academic freeze, the other half voiced their opinions about the DepEd and the Philippines are still not ready for the opening of classes. DepEd on the other hand has said that school has to start this year even if it is late, which I agree to. If the opening of classes had started next year, not only time will be wasted. Countless teachers, professors can lose their jobs and private schools have to stop their operations completely due to no source of income for the salary of their employees, staff, and maintenance for the school. However, thankfully, schools have started last October 5. The issue of the opening may have quieted down but a post from a concerned citizen has caused another uproar that awoken those who wanted an academic freeze. Due to this mistake slipping from the DepEd’s eyes, others said that this is why our country is still not ready for the school year, which the DepEd disagreed to.

So for this new learning system by DepEd, there is a major need for supplies in order to fulfill the modular learning and internet connection for online learning. However, the students and teachers have voiced out that they are lacking in both which is making it harder for everyone to have a quality education. Not everyone has internet access and the best signal for their smartphones for the conducting of online classes so it is a struggle for everyone especially those who live in rural areas. The lack of funds for bond papers and printer supplies for the printed modules of students and gadgets for online learning also adds up to the struggle.

But despite the numerous challenges not only students and teachers but also parents are facing, kind-hearted fellow citizens have shown their support for those who cannot afford learning paraphernalia’s for this day such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and internet connection. They gave them one that they can use in the future. It touches my heart that each Filipino is making efforts not for their own but for the happiness and future of others. That amidst the crisis, they still manage to be generous but humble, and that I think, is the quality of education during this pandemic.

We are definitely experiencing struggles specially when it comes to lack of preparedness and materials in this new normal way of learning. Despite struggles, our fellow students are still able to catch up because of the generosity of Filipinos.

History from A Beautiful Miracle

Every history has its own story behind it. If you go back to how the Binatbatan Festival began, you will not only believe in humanity again, but also in God. Back in December 1882, 30 years after a chapel was built in Vigan Cemetery in 1852, a devastating epidemic suddenly broke out, claiming the innocent lives of people in the community.      The death of 932 residents during the months of November and December of 1882 was the beginning. The shocking and devastating number of deceased residents due to the epidemic alarmed not only the residents but also other natives and mestizos or residents with Spanish blood, so they asked a favor from the then pastor, Dr. Evaristo Abaya, and asked to visit the Santo Cristo Milagro of Sinait. The people conducted a nine-day novena to the Santo Milagroso and the number of deaths slowly decreased and fortunately stopped on the last day. They praised God for the miraculous miracle and the majority of the reside...

To the Most Precious Woman in My World

Mother, Mom, Mommy, Mama, Nanay. Whatever you call the most precious woman in the world, she's the one you're thinking of. From what I have heard from various mothers, being a mother to her child or children is the most difficult yet fulfilling job a woman can ever have. Mothers carry their child for nine months. Amidst the pain and struggle of carrying a child inside of them, they never gave up, which is why we are all here today.      Childhood is the hardest part of taking care of your child, my mother says, because children don't have minds of their own yet and are unaware of the things they do, whether it's something good or something bad. Mothers sacrifice a lot for their family, their children. They sacrifice their freedom to take care of and provide for a newborn baby. And so we celebrate Mother's Day. Every second Sunday in May, we honor our mothers for their sacrifices and the love they have shown us throughout our lives. It's the da...

All-Out Me

The words all-out are what I believe describes myself the most. When I want, like, or love something or someone, I give all of me for them. Some may disagree but it’s my life so I do what I want.      Just like when I am interested in a group or band called IZ*ONE, I go all the way to show how much I love them and support them in their album sales and nominations. I saved all of my allowance in school just to buy their first full album, which became a record-breaking comeback selling over 500,000 albums and I am so proud to be one of it. When they come back with new songs and albums, I stream their music videos day and night. And when it comes to their music show wins, I try to spread the ways on how to vote for them on my social media accounts. Of course, it paid off because they took home all seven music shows trophies, which made them one of the few famous groups who managed to achieve an all streak win. My mother sometimes tells me off on why I am ...
